Wow, what a day. Two extremely high profile websites, at least in the design community, have launched the final versions of their new designs today.

The first, a publicly viewable live redesign by standardista Dan Cederholm has finally been completed and it looks absolutely amazing. Along with a redesign Dan has also rebranded his empire, and made the entire site flexible thanks to the magic of measuring in EMs. Head on over to SimpleBits to check out the amazingness in action.

Shortly after, and with no warning at all, design master Shaun Inman dumped the heap in favor of a new, minimal design. I’m not sure I like this one, it’s a bit 2advanced looking for me, but it is still an amazing design and it’s sure to bring a lot of attention to Shaun. A new ShaunInman.com is here, so go and leave him so love.

To further the redesign theme, I’ve finally begun working on a new design for my portfolio, and I actually expect to have it launched in the very near future. So look out for some more news on that.

Update: Browsing Flickr also just led me to the new design for Bryan Veloso’s podcast website, Live From The 101.

That’s actually a really old design (2002) for Inman, and Heap is still the default: shauninman.com

Damnit Elliot you beat me to it.

Wow, I never noticed the new Shaun Inman. I liked the old one, until you got into the oldest pages of the archives where you could barely read things. I love how this one looks, as far as colors go, but I can’t help but miss version 4 with the pretty drop downs and the lovely comment setup… sigh, nostalgia.

And SimpleBits is good on any day :)
