Visual: Neurotic November

tease, then please

As I’ve worked more and more with the music industry, I’ve taken quite a liking to the grunge style. I was always a fan of it before this, but it adds a certain visual feeling that draws you into the hardcore scene. Recently I’ve been working with Miami hardcore band Neurotic November, one of the Martyr Agency elite, on a series of matching designs for their MySpace profile and upcoming merch store.

I think the most important thing I’ve learned throughout this project is the importance of stock art, especially photography. Type, colors, and mood are all needed for a great design, but the imagery you use in the end is what shines through to your target audience. It sets the scene, builds a visual representation of what the music is all about. I’ve used a series of fall themed images during this project, which is set to launch within the next few weeks. For the time being there’s a nice teaser to keep you drooling.
