Civics were actually my first choice, but upon showing my stepdad some good deals on Craigslist his first reaction was "Ahhhh, get that shit outta here" or something along that line. My dad has an old, '90 Honda Accord (we jokingly refer to it as my "other little sister") and it runs as well as it did back then. Plus, Hondas (Civics especially) seem to be pretty popular among some of the tuner crowd, so I'd say take a look for one of those.
