The Apple Ultimatum
As I except the entire online world to know by now, Apple has scrapped the old black and white iPod Videos, replacing their lineup with the iPod Classic and iPod Touch. This bold move comes just as I was going to make the purchase of my first iPod, a 30GB video.
Pricing aside, the iPod Touch really is an attractive piece of hardware, and the WiFi enabled web browsing is what I’d really be purchasing it for. But with only 16GB of space, the Touch really isn’t an option if I plan on having all of my music accessible to me on the go. I know I’m not the only one wondering why Apple would roll out two high profile iPods, the Touch and Classic, but miss the bar on both. I suppose in the end I’ll be purchasing an iPod Classic, for the sake of storage, but the design and lack of web browsing capabilities will really make me regret this decision.
Why didn’t Apple combine the best of both into one ultimate iPod?
